Upper level ridge will continue to build and expand eastward into West Texas through mid week. This pattern will support dry and warmer weather for the area again today. Skies will be mostly sunny today, with afternoon highs ranging from the upper 80s over southern sections, to the lower 90s elsewhere. Clear to partly cloudy skies can be expected tonight, with overnight lows mainly in the 60s.

.LONG TERM... (Wednesday through Monday) Issued at 211 AM CDT Tue Sep 9 2025

Expect warmer and dry weather and an upper level ridge builds across the Southern Plains this week. Also, look for mostly sunny skies each afternoon which will make it feel even hotter. Highs will be in the upper 80s to 90s, slightly above normal for this time of year. Overnight lows will be in the 60s to lower 70s.
