.DISCUSSION... Issued at 238 AM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025

Early this morning, water vapor satellite imagery shows two distinct deep layer troughs located over southern California and the southeastern CONUS. In between these two features, a ridge is attempting to build across the southern and central plains. This mid/upper ridging (albeit somewhat weak) will serve to promote seasonably warm temperatures over the next few days.

The upper air pattern will remain somewhat stagnant thanks in part to the trough that will remain stationary over the southeastern CONUS. Influence from some tropical antics may serve to reinforce this deep layer trough, and weak ridging may stick around through the end of next week. While this won`t do much to influence temperatures (beyond them being a couple degrees above average) it will have a impact on the region`s precipitation forecast. With the lack of mid/upper troughs expected to progress across the central plains over the next week or so, it appears as though rain chances will be almost non-existent. Even with a weak cold front passing through the area Sunday night into Monday, the lack of moisture will prevent any chances for showers and storms.
