- Frost possible tonight across the interior north
The center of high pressure is over Michigan today and we`ll see the diurnal cu dissipate with sunset. Wind will also diminish resulting in good radiational cooling conditions. Temperatures across the far northeast two counties will settle in the mid 30s tonight. When combined with dewpoints fairly close to that, we`re likely to see some frost develop; we`ve issued a Frost Advisory for Osceola and Clare counties from 2am to 9 am.
- Dry and warmer this week
The high will drift east early this week and south winds will develop. That`ll push warmer air northward into the Great Lakes. There really aren`t many chances for rain during the upcoming week. There`s an upper trough that swings through Wednesday, but the air ahead of it is really dry and we don`t anticipate any precipitation then.
Friday night across the northwest cwa may be the best chance as it will be close to the nose of the warm front to the west. But can`t see much more than a 20 percent chance at best.
The ECMWF ensembles are very dry with temperatures warming to around 80 by Wednesday and climbing to the lower 80s by the weekend.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z TUESDAY/... Issued at 637 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025
Skies will be clearing and winds relaxing tonight, setting up another chance of patchy/shallow fog like last night around AZO, BTL, and JXN. MKG could be dealing with ceilings around 3,000 ft late tonight to Monday morning if clouds develop over Lake Michigan within a zone of converging air. Otherwise, good potential for most of Monday to be VFR.

.MARINE... Issued at 141 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025
Moderate beach hazards ongoing but winds and waves are trending down this evening. Southwest winds on Monday will build up 2-4 ft waves especially north of Grand Haven to Ludington by the afternoon and evening. These winds persisting Monday night into Tuesday may continue to build waves toward 3-5 feet, possibly necessitating a small craft advisory and beach hazards statement.
