.UPDATE... Issued at 639 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025

All is quiet across Middle TN this evening with hardly a cloud in the sky. No major changes to the forecast were made this evening with no impactful weather expected. Satellite imagery shows Tropical Storm Imelda and Hurricane Humberto off the Atlantic Coast with their tracks still taking them out farther into the Atlantic. There is a low chance that some tropical moisture getting pulled westward results in isolated showers for the far eastern Plateau. However, the chances of this happening are only around 10 percent. Instead, the Plateau may just see increased cloud cover tomorrow. Otherwise, a nice, albeit warm, day is in store with high temperatures near 90 degrees to help close out September.

&&

.SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Tuesday) Issued at 1100 AM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025

The most interesting wx features for the next couple of days will be tropical systems Humberto and Imelda, which will stay out over the Atlantic, and a weak inland trough drifting from the Mid Atlantic down to the Deep South. A warm, dry ridge will be in place north and west of these active wx systems, and this ridge will dominate our local wx throughout this week.

There is a small chance for a few raindrops along the Plateau Tuesday as the upper trough draws some moisture westward from the coast, but chances have been decreasing and are now less than 15 percent. Otherwise, the system may bring a little cloudiness at times. Daytime temps will stay very warm with highs in the 80s to near 90 (around 10 degrees above normal) and nights will cool off to the upper 50s and lower 60s with a few patches of shallow fog.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Tuesday Night through next Monday) Issued at 1100 AM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025

The upper ridge will rule with warm days and seasonable nights. There will be a gentle push of cooler air from the northeast late week, but temperatures will continue to be warmer than normal for the foreseeable future. No meaningful rain is in sight.

.AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 628 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025

A surface ridge is situated to the west of Middle Tennessee this evening, so our winds will maintain a northerly component, which also translates to a stable atmosphere and VFR wx, with the exception of the typical radiation fog at our two Cumberland Plateau terminals (KCSV and KSRB).
