Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Morristown TN 720 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

...New AVIATION...

.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1230 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Key Messages:

1. High pressure brings dry weather and clear sky conditions.

2. General warming trend expected throughout the week.

3. Morning fog, especially near rivers and lakes, and afternoon sunshine expected each day.

Discussion:

The cold front has moved east of the region with drier air and high pressure arriving. This will result in a week of dry weather and mostly clear conditions. With winds becoming calm overnight, fog will be expected each morning, especially near river valleys and lakes.

A general warming trend is expected through late week as upper level heights begin to increase and high pressure shifts eastward. Still, seasonable temperatures and mostly clear conditions are forecast to continue. No precipitation is expected throughout the week or next weekend at this time.

.AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 717 PM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

VFR conditions are forecast at all sites this period, but some Broken to scattered clouds around 4-5 kft may spread into CHA late tonight as a SE flow aloft develops across N GA. Fog cannot be ruled out a TRI, given the nearly lake, but dry conditions today and potential for light winds point toward fog being unlikely tonight.
