A tight pressure gradient between a surface low to the west and the departed high pressure to the east will continue the southerly flow into the forecast area today. Winds will be strongest over central South Dakota, where sustained winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour and gusts of 25 to 35 miles per hour will take hold.
