&&

.SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 1256 AM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025

Early this morning surface high pressure was located over Texas resulting in clear to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures were in the upper 60s to mid 70s with generally light southeast winds. Meanwhile, an upper-level ridge was also in place across the region. Another day of fair weather is expected with southeasterly winds between 5-10 MPH. No significant change in airmass was noted from yesterday so high temperatures should be in the upper 80s to low 90s again. As a trough over the northern High Plains drifts southward tonight the ridge will start to break down. Despite some resulting increase in cloud cover, low temperatures look to be in the upper 60s to around 70 again.

.LONG TERM... (Thursday through Tuesday) Issued at 1221 AM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025

Temperatures will remain warm from Thursday into the weekend. Highs will continue in the low 90s on Thursday and Friday, with highs creeping into the mid 90s over the weekend. Will continue to advertise a low end (20-30%) chance of PoPs each afternoon through Sunday although most areas look to remain dry. Models continue to indicate a possible pattern change by Monday and Tuesday of next week. Upper level ridging shifts off to the west while an upper level trough deepens over the southern Plains. This could result in increasing rain chances if this scenario plays out. Will maintain 30-40% PoPs for now across most of the area and hope these rain chances ultimately come to fruition.
