.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1245 PM CDT Fri Sep 19 2025
Generally a persistence forecast into Saturday. By Sunday, we`ll have a more predominate southeast flow in place. Corresponding increase in Gulf moisture should bring additional cloud cover and slightly lower high temperatures to the region Sunday into next week. Daily shower/tstm chances should gradually increase as well. Those with outdoor plans on Sunday, say from the metro area to the coast, might want to pack an umbrella just in case. Doesn`t necessarily look like a washout, but overall scattered precip coverage looks to be highest in that general vicinity (and even moreso offshore). Heading into next week, it looks like an equal opportunity situation for most in the region with scattered, mainly daytime activity inland and overnight/morning activity offshore.
Model-to-model forecast upper level pattern varies through a good part of next week. They`re not in the best agreement...which leads to forecast uncertainty in regards to the nitty gritty details and timing. Some suggest the potential for shortwave activity moving through aloft, others suggest a weak mid-late week frontal boundary to play with, etc, etc. Until we have some better consistency/confidence, blended fcsts advertising sct daily precip chances will be tough to beat at this point in time. 47

.AVIATION... (12Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 541 AM CDT Fri Sep 19 2025
Again saw some patchy fog develop during the predawn hours this morning at our typical spots (CXO, LBX), but this will dissipate shortly after sunrise this morning. VFR conditions are then expected to persist across the area for the rest of the day. Some isolated showers or storms will be possible again today with greatest chances along the coast and north of Huntsville. Any activity that does develop will wane by sunset. Light/variable winds will continue through the early morning, then become east to southeasterly around 7-12kt this afternoon and evening. Light winds return overnight tonight, thus some redevelopment of patchy fog is possible.
