.UPDATE... Issued at 1221 PM CDT Mon Sep 22 2025

The forecast remains on track this afternoon. Patchy fog continues to improve, with only a few locations still showing reduced visibility down to around 1.5 miles. Temperatures are in the 70s across the forecast area with continued light and variable winds.

UPDATE Issued at 943 AM CDT Mon Sep 22 2025

Fog this morning is becoming less widespread, with some patchy fog still being observed across portions of Beltrami County and Griggs County. Temperatures are generally in the upper 50s to low 60s with light and variable winds.

UPDATE Issued at 701 AM CDT Mon Sep 22 2025

Fog has remained most consistent in the far eastern fcst area from Baudette to Park Rapids where the dense fog adv is out. West of there there is a rather narrow zone of ground fog (seems that way from webcams) from Cavalier to just west of Grand Forks thru Mayville and scattered down to Wahpeton. In an earlier update I did just expand fog mention to all areas as there has been a few fog areas via webcams around New Rockford and Cooperstown. I also updated this upcoming late Monday night for some fog in the east as this matched neighboring WFO`s and put in fog based on forecast vsbys 06z-14z Tue period.

.DISCUSSION... Issued at 255 AM CDT Mon Sep 22 2025

...Synopsis...

500 mb low right over Duluth early this morning. Clouds finally cleared out of the Baudette and Bemidji areas early Sunday evening, but with the last clearing and calm winds fog quickly formed in this area and will remain thru mid morning. Some patchy fog may form as well farther west into the RRV, with HRRR indicating some fog forming in the southern RRV.

The overriding theme this week into the weekend is dry and warm. Upper level ridging builds east into south central Canada and far northern Plains this week as main jet and moisture reside well to our south. Stable upper air pattern and looks to persist for about 10 days into early October. Above normal temps and no frost concerns in this 10 day period. Considering the wet weather of the past few weeks, a dry period is very welcome by most.
