.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1147 AM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025

Through midweek, a mid- to upper-level trough will propagate eastward, leaving behind a slow-moving weakness aloft. This evolving pattern will help maintain a mid-level low over the Gulf Coast, enhancing large-scale ascent and allowing rain chances to return to South Texas late this week. On Friday, shower and thunderstorm coverage will increase to become low to moderate (30-50%), with the Coastal Bend and Coastal Plains seeing low (20-30%) chances, especially during the afternoon sea breeze. Farther inland, PoPs will remain generally below 20%. With PWATs forecast to be near normal for this time of year, rainfall rates should remain on the modest side.

Temperatures will be seasonably warm through the forecast period. The Brush Country will see highs in the mid to upper 90s, with low to mid 90s prevailing elsewhere across the region. Overnight lows will range from the upper 60s inland to the lower 70s along the coast through the weekend, with a gradual warming trend into the low 70s inland as dewpoints increase late in the period.

Marine conditions will become more unsettled by Friday as east- northeasterly winds strengthen and longer-period swells develop. This will elevate the risk of rip currents and may lead to coastal flooding concerns during periods of high tide, particularly with the full moon occurring late this weekend into early next week. These hazards will continue to be monitored closely.

.MARINE... Issued at 1147 AM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025

Over the next couple days, winds will be predominately light to gentle (BF 2-3) and directionally variable with 2-3 ft seas. By Friday, these winds increase to more moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) strength out of the east-northeast with seas increasing to 3-5 ft. This pattern continues through the weekend with winds decreasing slightly on Monday to become gentle to moderate with persistent seas near 3 ft. Daily low to moderate chances for rain (30-50%) begin Friday and continue through the upcoming week.
