1979 - Hurricane Frederick smashed into the Mobile Bay area of Alabama packing 132 mph winds. Winds gusts to 145 mph were reported as the eye of the hurricane moved over Dauphin Island AL, just west of Mobile. Frederick produced a fifteen foot storm surge near the mouth of Mobile Bay. The hurricane was the costliest in U.S. history causing 2.3 billion dollars damage.

Tula is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Lafayette County, Mississippi, United States. Tula is located on Mississippi Highway 331 7.5 miles (12.1 km) west-southwest of Toccopola.
Tula is a name either (sources vary) derived from the Chickasaw language meaning "rock", or a transfer from Tula, in Russia.
It was first named as a CDP in the 2020 Census which listed a population of 197.
