.DISCUSSION... Issued at 136 AM EDT Tue Sep 9 2025

Key Messages:

1. Dry

2. Warming up

Discussion:

We`re going to sound like a broken record for the next several discussions with no significant weather expected for the rest of the week and the upcoming weekend... which is typical as we creep towards fall in the southern Appalachians. Temperatures will start to eek back into the 80`s for most locations over the next couple of days, and continue to steadily warm each day this week until we`re right around, or just a tad above seasonal normals as we head into the upcoming weekend. One difference from the last time we were this warm is that the dew points will likely be in the low 60`s to upper 50`s instead of around 70, so it should feel less muggy than last round of multiple mid 80 degree days.

.AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 136 AM EDT Tue Sep 9 2025

The main aviation concern will be patchy fog expected around TRI. Currently, the expectation is for something similar to last night where visibilities stay VFR but with patchy fog in the area. Otherwise, mostly clear skies and light northeasterly winds will prevail after sunrise.
