- Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible, primarily
along and near the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
- Dry slightly cooler weather is expected the remainder of the
  week.

Currently increased cloudiness and a few isolated showers in the
vicinity of the Appalachian mountains as enhanced moisture from
Imelda merges with troughing over the eastern seaboard of the United
States. We will continue to see showers in the region, and
eventually a few isolated thunderstorms during the hottest part of
the afternoon as storms slowly make their way south/southwestward
today. No major impacts are expected from any of the storms today
into tonight. Area`s that get a decent shower could see some patchy
fog overnight with skies expected to begin and clear out overnight.
The rest of the week looks to be pretty quiet weather-wise with
broad ridging setting up which will lead to sunnier skies. Max
temperatures will generally hover in the upper 70`s to lower 80`s
under this set up with lows dropping into the 50`s for most.
Rain chances return to the forecast at the end of the weekend into
next week as Gulf moisture finally makes a move further north along
with a boundary.

Scattered light rain showers to dissipate in the next couple of
hours, and skies will clear late overnight. Patchy fog by morning,
especially for valley locations that saw rain. IFR to LIFR
conditions possible at KTRI, should the terminal get fog. Past
14z, fog will scatter, and dry conditions for nearly the whole
area with light winds and VFR will be predominant through the
remainder of the period.
